Victorian Bookbinders Guild

For all interested in the Art, Craft and Practice of Bookbinding                                             

Sidney Nolan Landscapes and Legends, a set text.  

  This  is the exhibiton catalogue of th retrospective exhibition 1937-1987, and consists of 176  A4 pages  in 11 sections with numerous colour and black and white pictures for inspiration.   10 copies of uncut sheets are available upon registration or you may purchase your own copy and rebind.


Open to  all members of the Victorian Bookbinders Guild

First prize $200 cash plus  first choice of  one of the three prizebooks.

Second prize $100 cash  plus second choice of the remaining prize books.

Third prize $50.00  plus the remaining prize book.   

Style, any style, any covering.

A judge will be appointed to examine the entries with the focus on quality of workmanship, ease of function, and creative content.

All entres must be completed by and submitted to  November meeting. The guild is not responsible for loss or damage to entries submitted by post.

Entrants grant the Victorian Bookbinders Guild the right to photograph the entries, and to publish the pictures and descriptions on the Guild Wesite, Signature newsletter and the Guild facebook.

Entrants also agree to the entry being exhibited by the Guild after awarding of the prizes.

The Guild will also, dependent on entry numbers, conduct one or more workshops exploring methods, design ideas, and assist in the technical skills needed to carry out those ideas.  Workshop costs will depend on the number of participants.  

Entry fee   $60.00  which includes the cost of the sheets. Entry fee does not include postage of sheets. Fr postage add $15.00 to the registration fee.

If more than 10 applicants, applicants will need to obtain a second hand copy to bind, and the entry fee with no sheets supplied is $30.00. Entries are taken on a first come first serve basis, using the registration function on the guild website. Entries are only accepted upon receipt of payment by direct debit to the Guild bank account.
