Notice of the Annual General Meeting 2019

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN

that the Annual General Meeting of VBG Inc.Will be held will be held on Tuesday July 23rd 2019 at the West Hawthorn Uniting Church, 10 Power St, Hawthorn West, meeting roomcommencing at 7pm.Following the AGM we will have a member’s buy, swap sell evening and a presentation

Committee positions descriptions:

All Committee positions are declared vacant at the Annual General Meeting and any financial member of VBG Inc. is eligible to nominate for a position. Committee meetings are usually held on the last Tuesday of the month and Committee members are expected to attend.If you are interested in nominating for any of the positions, please do not hesitate in contacting a current member of the Committee to discuss.A short description of each Committee position is set out below.

President Chair monthly meetings and Committee meetings; represent VBG publicly; generally oversee the business of guild.

Vice-President In the absence of the President, temporarily carry out the duties of the position; arranges the members evenings program held after the committee meetings.

Secretary Arrange committee meetings, sets agenda, takes and distributes minutes, attend to all correspondenceand maintain records and submit annual returns.

Treasurer Manage finances and maintain financial records, prepare financial statement for each meeting and prepares annual return.

Committee Members Support and assist in organising activities and manage and coordinate one-off projects, including:

Librarian Maintain library inventory, manages borrowing system and recommends purchase of new items.

Newsletter and web page Editor  Produce monthly issue of guild newsletter and maintains website updates.

Workshop Coordinator. Identifies opportunities for workshops and other members activates throughout the year. Co-ordinate annual calendar of activates. Liaises with the West Hawthorn Uniting Church and workshop host,manages bookings/ registrations and payments.Post AGM Buy Swap Sell Evening.

Materials Buying Scheme Co-oridinator. Maintain a supply materials to  for members at meetings.members.

Buy Swap and Sell.

Do you have endless excess bookbinding paraphernalia lying around gathering dust? A once a year chance to air your bindery of unwanted clutter. Gather up all your unwanted paper, leather, tools, sundries and anything bookbinding for our buy swap sell evening!! Bring them along on Tuesday July 23rd, following the AGM, for a buy, swap or sell evening.We will have tables set up around the edge of the room for you to display and sell from.Please contact Robert on 0419 524 320 or culinary@alphalink.com.au for more details.

Please send a short paragraph and a picture to the Editor, preferably by email to editor@vbg.net.au so that we can include your account in our next newsletter and on our website.

We also encourage members to share their achievements and experiences at club nights. Bring along photos, drawings or examples and feel welcome to talk about these as part of the meeting.
