In this workshop we will explore the production methods of the oldest surviving complete codex books from the Nag Hammadi area of Egypt. These books show the migration of the scroll to the codex, and so have a significant place in the history of the book.
Participants will take home a model of the Nag Hammadi binding style.
Workshop cost $100.00 per person plus materials cost $60.00 to be paid on the day.
Booking essential. Minimum for workshop to proceed 4, maximum 10 participants. If booked out the workshop will be repeated.
Materials used Goatskin leather, card. Papyrus, glue, are provided at a cost of $60.00 payable on the day by cash.
