Victorian Bookbinders Guild

For all interested in the Art, Craft and Practice of Bookbinding

The Bread and Cheese Club Tuesday 26th at 7pm
A great time hearing to what appears to be one of the early forms of The Modern Men's shed. Some history, discussion, book clinic, historical items to review, 4 new members, 2 visitors swelled the numbers and a great atmosphere.
The Bread and Cheese Club was an arts and literary society based in Melbourne. 1938 - 1988. Its objective was to foster " Mateship, Art and Letters". The club published over forty books and a magazine. Principal member J.K. Moir donated his extensive collection to the State Library of Victoria.

Presented by David Harris, whose rolls at the State Library (now retired) gave him access to the important collections of the work of this club.

The meeting will also include  the usual book clinic, materials sales, and light refreshments. Registration closes Sunday before the meeting.

Dont hesitate to contact me or any of the committee for more information about anything at all. Jim
